micro:bit workshops & talks @ ISTE 19! June 23-26

The Micro:bit Educational Foundation will be at ISTE 2019 Philadelphia from June 23-26! Find us at booth 1052 at Pennsylvania Convention Centre, Philadelphia, PA.

We’re running workshops so you can come and learn more about the BBC micro:bit, our worldwide partners, and some of the amazing things you can do with our deceptively simple device.

About the workshops

Here’s a taste of what you can get involved with…

Microsoft will be getting visitors coding and making a wearable rock-paper-scissors game.

The Scratch team from MIT will be running workshops on how micro:bit is the perfect compliment to Scratch 3.0.

Tynker will be dropping by to announce two exciting new micro:bit courses! One using blocks and another using Python.

The team from Birdbrain will host sessions on how to ‘Create with CS’ using their Hummingbird Robotics Kit and the Finch Robot.

Kitronik will join us to share their ‘Lesson in a Box’ teaching solution – anyone can craft and code a simple micro:bit-powered robot in these hands-on workshops.

Plus, familiar and friendly faces from the Micro:bit Educational Foundation will be with you to help you get to grips with using Python for micro:bit, and to run ‘Drop-in and play’ sessions at the start of each day

There is much more going on, so to get the most out of your visit to ISTE 2019, be sure to keep across our Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn for the latest updates.

Workshop timetable

Please note these times are subject to change. All sessions are first-come, first-served but there will also be some space to watch if you’re unable to take part directly.

Remember, on Sunday 23 June you’ll also find us at the Computer Science Network Playground – an interactive event to learn about updated resources for computer science and computational thinking.
